Nils stepped to the side and gestured for her to enter the room. "Of course, please do." To further the point he stepped into the classroom himself, walking over to his desk and attempting to clear up the clutter he had accrued since arriving in the morning. "Fantasy is always good. Especially if you consider our reality to be muggle fantasy." He chuckled, turning back to face her.
She handed over the sketchbook and he opened it, turning the pages slowly as he looked them over. "These are quite good. You're in the art classes right? I should think so with all of this talent."

She didn't bother trying to read any of it. If she wanted to, she could have figured out what it all said but she didn't feel like trying at the moment. "Fantasy is my favorite, ever since I first stumbled on it. It's like a ...what do you call it...like a protection from the world? I can't think of the word right now." she laughed softly.
As he looked through her sketches, she couldn't help but watch him. It always made her nervous, letting new people look. Most that saw it were impressed, but she always had certain unsavory opinions in the back of her mind telling her that they weren't as good as she thought. "Thanks she couldn't help the flush. "Yea, yeah I was so excited to see we finally got an art teacher. It's about the only thing I'm good at so I like finally having a class I can excel at. Well I'm good at Charms too. But art..." she trailed off as she realised she was rambling and she looked down at her hands. I want to do like...Comic cons and stuff when I'm out of here. People think it's stupid, to be able to do magic and want something nonmagical like that." She shrugged softly.

"Protection from the world?" He paused, thinking on it. "I hadn't thought of it like that, but I like it. It makes sense. A lot of people look at it that way. It's escapism." His eyes didn't leave the sketchbook as he flipped through. She was quite good.
"You go to conventions?" He chuckled, handing the book back to her, "I'm jealous. That sounds like a lot of fun. There is a lot of talent needed to do nonmagical things. People forget that. It's important to excel at the basics too."

”Escapism! Thats the word, thanks!” She smiled, finally pulling her eyes away from watching him to look out the window thoughtfully. It was definitely what she was doing when she went to draw or paint...escaping. Escaping Jaxon and his abuse. Miri knew what it was but knowing and leaving were two different things and it gave her such a headache. At least he wasn't physically hurting her anymore.
”I try to go when I'm back home. It's once in a blue moon though, Jaxon don' really care for it and I'm not good enough to sell anything there anyways he says so there's no point.” She was still looking out the window watching the few birds flying around, not really paying attention to what she was saying. ”Magical people don't care about basic things. Not like that. Not when you can flick your wand and and there is a paintin. Or a sculpture. But where's the fun in that? Or the pride. It's senseless. It has no soul.”

Laughing, he nodded, "Yeah, escapism." For a moment Miri got a faraway look and Nils wondered. Something she escaped from, he figured. But he couldn't delve further. This wasn't an article. This was a girls life. And he had just met her. No need to figure her out.
"I can understand that. My brother heads affairs, and doesn't bother with the mundane. It's a shame. What will we do when we are wandless and bound?" Which was something he hoped never happened. Being wandless was annoying. Even though he tried to do his daily tasks like a normal person.

Miriana didn't notice that he had been watching her looking away. Her mind had been in a temporary daze before she looked back over with a smile. "Well...it would depend on the reason you're wandless and bound? " She laughed and left it at that.
"So d'you think any of the students in here could work with my style or am I SOL?"

"I think....if no one fits your fancy, I will help you until you do." It probably wasn't in his best interest. But he couldn't let her get screwed over. That was definitely a way that could ruin her artistic muse. And he wasn't about to destroy some little girls psyche.
And he chose to ignore the bound and wandless comment.
