don't say no to this The masquerade had already started by the time Cory found himself spinning Regina around the dance floor. It was a nice change of pace from his thesis work, especially after he had to start rebuilding it after it exploded on him. No, tonight would be a much better night.
Much better. At least he hoped.
Pulling her closer to him, he tilted her chin up so he could kiss her. His amazing goddess of a girlfriend. No one had ever held his interest like her. He was pretty sure no one ever would.
A smirk crossed his lips as he led her outside to the balcony. If she knew what he had planned... well he could only hope she would like it. It would be a shame really if she didn't. Leaning on the banister outside, he looked over at her.
"Enjoyin' yourself?' He was teasing, obviously.

The excitement that Regina felt to be going to the dance with her boyfriend was embarrassing. She couldn't help it. It was the first time she'd gone to a dance with an actual boyfriend. And it was Cory. And he just made her so happy. She spent more time than she was willing to admit getting ready. And before she knew it he had picked her up, looking dashing, and they were spinning around the dance floor. It was so easy to let go with Cory.
His lips were soft against hers and she couldn't help the smile as he lead her outside. He leaned against the banister and she grinned over at him. "It's the worst." She could still hear the music coming from inside and she closed her eyes, swaying to it slowly.

don't say no to this "It really is, isn't it?" Cory laughed before shifting slightly to pull Regina over him so he could sway along with her. The fact that they finally agreed to put to words what they had already been made him ridiculously happy.
His nose ran over her gently before he rested his forehead against hers. "Have I told you lately how beautiful you are?" Yeah, sometimes he could be romantic and sappy. It wasn't often, but it could happen. But it was an honest thing when he did it. He really did find her absolutely breath taking. It wasn't a gimmick and he didn't tell her for any other end but to tell her.
Leaning down, he kissed her again.

"Have you?" She mused, draping her arms up and over his shoulders. Well, as close as she could get. He was quite taller than her, even with her heels on. One of the many things she adored about him. That. The cheeky grin he gave her. The way his eyes light up when she walked in the room. The way his fingers fit with hers...."I don't mind hearing it though."
She kissed him again before resting her head against his chest. Regina sighed, content, before speaking again, "Can we just not go back to having classes? Live like this forever?"

A soft laugh came from him as he swayed her around. " Unfortunately, we both gotta finish this year.' Resting his head on top of hers, he thought about what was weighing on him. Literally it felt like that. He knew it was all in his mind. Psychological. Licking his lips, he loosened his grip on her as his hand slipped into his pocket. His free hand pushed a piece of her hair gently behind her ear. " Let's get married." His voice was soft, even as he found himself leaning down in front of her. His heart pounded in his chest, but he had never been more sure of something he wanted. " I've loved you for so long and I've never been so sure of something. I can't imagine a day without you, Regina. I don't want to. I want to know each and every day you're mine." The ring was in his hand and he held it up for her. She was content. She could have not moved from his arms forever and been happy. Making a slightly bothered sound, she pursed her lips at the idea. Finishing out the year sounded terrible. But it meant she got to spend more time with him. And as the idea went through her head he pulled away and she chuckled at his words. "Yeah?" Of course it was a joke. He couldn't be...
Regina just stared at him as he knelt down, producing a ring from his pocket. His words just barely louder than her heart beating in her ears. The ring sparkled in the light and for a moment she stopped reading entirely. "A-are you serious?" This had to be a joke. Some little prank he thought would be funny. She could feel her eyes starting to sting so she reached up to take her mask off, letting it drop on the ground next to her.

”Of course I'm serious.” Cory watched as she took her mask off and it fell to the ground. Reaching up he took his own mask off and looked back up at her. He didn't know all of her family life but he knew enough to understand why she didn't want to believe him. But he was sincere.
He wanted nothing more than to steal her away and protect her from everything that might want to hurt her. ”I love you. And if you say no today, I'll just try again another day. Because I'm not going anywhere Regina.” He held the ring back up.

With his mask off it was even harder for her to keep control of herself. The vision of him kneeling in front of her with a ring in his hand. Telling her how much he loved her and wanted her in his life...She wasn't sure how to handle it. He had to be making a mistake. "You...you can't be serious. You're not thinking this through..." Her voice was soft as she spoke, trying to keep it from cracking. She knew he had to be. He must have been moving on impulse. He could't really mean it.
"You need to think this through." As much as she wanted to give him an answer, she was afraid to. What if he changed his mind. "You'll change your mind tomorrow..." Of course he would. She could feel her body giving in as a tear fell down her cheek.

He pulled her into his arms and she knew it had to be a dream. There was no way this was really happening. Maybe someone spiked her drink and she had passed out. Maybe she would wake up and everything would go back to normal. But...she didn't want it to. Staying there in his arms her voice was almost inaudible as she spoke. She knew he couldn't hear her so she tried again.
"...Yes.."
If it was a dream she wanted it to be happy. She wanted it to be perfect. And she wanted to be with Cory. "Yes. I will."

Who knew that one little word could have such an effect on a person. That one word made his heart pound in his chest as he gently took her hand and slipped the ring on. His own hand might have been shaking a bit before he pulled her back into him and kissed her deeply. "I love you Regina, and only you. Forever."
Hell, they could go get married at that very moment.
"You know we could go into town right now..." He let the thought hang. Now that was an impulsive idea. He wouldn't regret it in the slightest. but that he would leave up to her.

Regina stood on her toes, pressing her lips against Corys. "I love you too, Cory." She couldn't believe she had just said that. That she loved him. That she said yes. But here she was, ring on her finger. Boyfriend....fiance. She couldn't help but kiss him again.
They could go into town? "Yeah?" She giggled, running her hands over his chest. The ring on her finger sparkled in the light and she couldn't help but smile as she admired it....
"Okay. Let's do it. Let's go."

If he had thought the 'yes' affected him a lot, he hadn't been prepared for when she told him she loved him. That made his heart feel like it was going to burst. Yeah, he could be sappy at times okay.
He held her against him, kissing her even as his lips curled into a smile. "Right now? And you i thought I needed to rethink everything?"Even as he was teasing her, his hand slipped into hers as he led her away from the Masquerade. Being with her for the rest of his life was something he already knew he wanted, so getting married right then and there wasn't a problem at all for him.
The night was nice as they made their way to the village. A bit on the cold side, but it wasn't truly winter yet and they both had their coats on. His arm was over her shoulders as he hold her close to him. "You know you don' hafta say yes or nothin' right?" Of course he knew she knew that, but if there was one thing the American always liked to make sure, it was that she never felt pressured by anything.

Just in time
Regina smacked him on his shoulder lightly. "Don't you be gettin on my case. I just said yes to you." And she had just agreed to go elope with him. Maybe she did need to slow down. But is was Cory. And Cory was everything she had ever wanted. She followed him out, her hand in his, leaving her mask completely forgotten on the ground. The air was chilly, but not enough to cause them much grief.
"Have you known me to ever agree to something I don't wanna do?" At least not so easily. She was sure he had badgered her into some things before. But never like this. Nothing this important and nothing this easily.

He laughed at her swat. "I'll get on your case any time I wanna.' He teased her easily as he pulled her closer. While he knew Regina could change her mind and be fickle at times, he sincerely hoped this wouldn't an instance of it. And even if it were, like he told her before, he wasn't going anywhere. Not unless she forced him away.
"No, I haven't ever known you to do that." Not that he could think of at least. As they came into the town, he turned and pulled her into him kissing her. His fingers went through her hair and he couldn't help the way his heart pounded in his chest. The courthouse was right in front of them, still open, but all he could look at at the moment was his beautiful girlfriend.
"God, I love you." Leaning down, he kissed her again before they went inside.
