SEPTEMBER 2ND ROUGHLY 11AM Day two, and already he had managed to find a great, albeit a bit muddy, place to dig. Digging was Evan's peace of mind. It was the only time he was every truly relaxed. Though at times when he was with Eric at the forge he was also relaxed, but this was an entirely different level. The way the mud and dirt felt under his boots, the way it fell from his fingers as he sifted through the substance trying to find anything at all. Evan had managed to finally get his gear together in a proper way now that it was his second year here at Beauregard. The students in Ophiuchus house knew not to touch his tools, or anything marked with his initials, lest they wish to pay the consequences. It wasn't worth it really. Attaching his belt at the side, thankful that it was a Saturday morning and it wasn't too frigid outside, he double checked all the items, different sizes of brushes lined the pockets, a shovel, trowel, rake, spade. Even a pickax to get through some of the more difficult rubble. To say that Evan Rosier was not a fit individual was saying the a fish could not swim. Handling large bones at times, he even managed a dragon femur a year or two back out of their estate. That was the thing with the Rosier boys. The surface looked innocent, but within their skin, their bones and bodies, it was a constant and churning chaos that only a few people have managed to tame. Rabastan Lestrange being one of them, but there were two girls that he couldn't quite remember and it had bothered him for sometime. Occasionally kept him up at night. Making his way out through the corridors he found himself somewhat lonely. Having spent the summer with his brother and now there wasn't a person at his side. It was quiet. Not that he cared too much for the silence, it was just a little unnerving. Especially with the not so recent death of his parents and the fact that his memory had returned. It was an odd feeling. There were faces that he would recognize if he could. Rabastan's was easy enough. And Eric. The memories of Eric had come back like a wildfire engulfing a dry forest. Every single memory of his other half as there bright as the sun on a cloudless day. It was a good feeling to know that Eric never left his side due to his ailment, but why would he. Attention drawing back to the present, Evan was nearly to the large wooden doors to the castle as he spotted a blonde. A familiar smell rising into his nostrils as he had passed her, but it was too fresh to place and he needed to see her face to confirm. If he could confirm, but instead of asking he just continued on passed her, hands slowly curling over the metal pull as he tugged on the door. Distraction wasn't something that happened too easily for Evan Rosier, but the door opened a lot faster than he had thought it would and his hands were already full as he stumbled backwards. template by Sammy @ Adox 2.0

It was the perfect day for a little adventure outside somewhere. The weather wasn't bitter, the sun was around somewhere behind the clouds, and Ezra was having a serious case of the stir crazies. Outside was precisely the solution and she didn't intend to waste one more moment in the castle. Although part of that reason was because she knew that on a day like this, a certain Rosier boy would no doubt be out and about somewhere where the earth was soft and treasures hid.
Pulling her boots on and finding something warm to wrap around herself, off she went. She had already known where Ash was going today, as Eric was almost certainly forging away as he did during nicer days. She had debated of course, going to get in some extra Quidditch practice, but truth be told she had something more important than Quidditch to do. Today was the day she was going to find Evan. She hadn't seen him since he had gone and left Hogwarts. A year sooner than she had because, well, potions had been her nemesis. So she had spent a year without her dearest friend (aside from Ash of course) and it really weighed on her mind in most unhappy ways.
It never mattered to her that he couldn't remember her. She'd been there through every bit of his ailments almost as often as his brother, and she never faulted him when her name slipped his mind, or he couldn't quite recall who she was. And even if he didn't remember her here, she could never be angry about it.
But finding him to finally say hello again was going to be a task in itself. He had had a year to learn the layout of the school and grounds. She had not. But that wasn't going to deter her, no sir. She would...
Ezra blinked as a familiar mop of blonde curls went walking passed her, and happiness had caught her so suddenly that she couldn't manage to get the words to actually come out. And there he went, right to the door, and...
"Oh my gosh!" she'd finally found her voice and went skidding over to him as he landed, her hands flying out to catch the tools before they caught him in the face. "You shouldn't try to open doors so big when you have your arms full, silly. It's a recipe for disaster." she chuckled softly and set the tools down, standing and offering him her hand to help him up. "They move a lot quicker than they look."

SEPTEMBER 2ND ROUGHLY 11AM There she was, the girl that he had remember and he blinked looking up at her from the floor for a moment. Evan propped himself up on his elbows and tried his best to sit up. Blinking. That was all he could do as he tilted his head listening to her voice. Again he blinked, but this time his eyes stayed close as he processed her face and her voice, the way she smelled. Every single fiber in his body screaming to remember her. The way Ezra had set his tools down reminded him, the way she cared for his equipment as if it were a brand new kitten that just needed to be loved. "Give me a second. I think I near knocked myself senseless." Breathing for a moment, Evan took her hand and stood up while shaking back the dizzies that happened when face meets door. "I should probably remember that the headmaster has these doors enchanted so they're not nearly as heavy as they actually are." Ezra, her name was Ezra. The light clicked on the instant they made eye contact and he gave her a soft smile. "I remember you."template by Sammy @ Adox 2.0

She smiled quietly as she waited for him to get his bearings straight, after being assaulted by the door. While this wasn't exactly what she had in mind for meeting him again, at least she'd found him. And that counted as a win in her book.
Ezra couldn't help the little smirk as he just sat there and blinked, not because he'd gone and fallen down, but purely because of how befuddling he seemed to be finding the situation. "You very nearly did by the looks of it. Maybe next time let someone help you carry your tools?"
She let go of his hand once he looked steady enough and laughed softly as she looked to the doors. "That makes sense. Though he should probably put a little notice up somewhere. Caution, open with care or something like that. I imagine theres been more than a few broken noses from those."
Turning back, she met his eyes and just smiled. Evan Rosier, the boy with only 205 bones, who couldn't convince a tie to stay in place, her best friend, the boy who always for got, and the one she had fallen so hopelessly for. But much to her sudden surprise, and with only three little words, he had stumped her completely. Now she was the one blinking, the one befuddled.
"You..you do?"

SEPTEMBER 2ND ROUGHLY 11AM Normally it was alright for him to carry his tools, he never had a problem, but Ezra Winchester had distracted him completely. A smile playing on his lips as he dusted himself off and looked to her. Again their eyes locked and his own heart pounding in his chest. He couldn't easily remember things like this, but here she was. The girl that treated him kindly and never gave up on him when he couldn't remember her name. It was only a name anyway. Today he could remember it as clear as yesterday and he smiled. The look of confusion on Ezra's face didn't catch him off guard. "Ezra." He rubbed his face and looked around the area a moment to bend down and grab his tools. "I... I think I told you some of my darkest secrets when Eric and I attended Hogwarts. I may have forgotten you all through last year, but I couldn't forget the person that was always there when my brother couldn't be." That was the truth. Evan didn't forget the people that honestly meant they were going to stay in his life. Ezra Winchester at one point promised him that she would never forget or give up on him. That meant more than anyone could ever understand given the circumstances surrounding that promise. template by Sammy @ Adox 2.0

Ezras smile was brighter than ever and before she could stop herself, her eyes welled up as he said her name. "I'm sorry. I swear these are sad ones, really." she laughed, wiping at her face. She couldn't help it though. On the odd occasion back at Hogwarts when he remembered her, it had always made her happy. But it had been a year since they had seen each other. A year since she had spoken to him, or listened to one of his stories. To hear him say that he remembered her after so long, when only days would pass and she would reintroduce herself, and to hear him say her name. Well, it had shocked her in the best way imaginable.
He had told her a great number of his secrets, and ones that he and Eric shared together. And she had never uttered a word about them, not even to Ashlin. Her cheeked flushed red as he spoke. Telling her that he could never forget her, making her think of her own promise to him, and she fought quite hard this time to keep those happy tears where they belonged. This was most definitely not the time to be crying no matter how happy a moment it was.
However there was one thing she was unable to hold back, and she cleared the space between them, hugging him tightly. She'd finally found him, and even more so, he remembered her. "You have no idea how much I've missed you." she admitted, laughing quietly against his shoulder.

SEPTEMBER 2ND ROUGHLY 11AM "I feel like I'm a little confused by the tears, but as long as you're not upset then by all means." Evan laughed softly as she smiled. The familiarity around her was rather comforting, more so than he had remembered. But here was his Ezra, the girl who would burn down the world for him, and all he could do was smile in return. The space between them was closed and he was left standing there slightly awkwardly for a moment as he cheeks turned a slight shade of cherry and the way her arms moved around him, the way she hugged him. Her scent even stronger now and he moved to rest his head on her shoulder as his own arms wrapped around her. This girl was a mystery to him, everything about her, one shock right after the other as he held her in his arms. Evan dropped his tools so that he could hold her more properly. "I don't, but I feel like I've missed you as well. Like... a hole has been filled in my chest where you belong. I..." He cut himself short. No longer was he the blubbering fool that everyone thought was a pure idiot. His sentences held structure now, they held sustinance. Though at times, like Eric, he could get caught in a tangent on his most favorite subject matter. "I.. if you've missed me so much, would you like to accompany me out on a dig. I feel like I am close to finding something good. I can feel it in my bones. And I wouldn't mind sharing the experience with you."template by Sammy @ Adox 2.0

"I promise. The last thing I could be right now is upset. " she smiled. he wasn't wrong. She would have found ways to move mountains and seas for him if he'd ever asked her. While she had never admitted to more than a crush back when they were at hogwarts, the truth was she loved him. Hopelessly and irrevocably, in fact.
As she heard the soft clatter of his tools, and felt the warmth of his arms around her, she blushed even more. The smell of foxglove and upturned earth was like home as she breathed him in. He was her Evan. She didn't care one bit if people were staring, or those that had to step off to the side as the came and left to avoid walking into them. The rest of the world be damned, she'd found hers again.
There was no fighting the smile that found its way to her at his words, at hearing that she belonged somewhere to him. Pulling away just enough to meet his eyes as he offered her to dig with him, nodding softly as she smiled. "There is nothing I can think of that I'd rather do than to come dig with you. But only if you tell me about all the things you've found since you've been away. A year is an awfully long time, and I know I've missed some amazing finds."

SEPTEMBER 2ND ROUGHLY 11AM "Good, I'm glad." That was spot on the truth. Evan had many thing that he disliked and he disliked it when people he cared deeply for were upset. The world around them moved fluidly and as always he ignored the people that didn't matter in the slightest. Right now all that mattered was Ezra Winchester, and the fact that they were about to go out on a dig. In the woods. It was going to be a fantastic time and he was going to enjoy every second of it. More so than he would have if he was just headed out to the forest on his own. Having her so close to him caused a deeper feeling to stir. Evan wasn't too sure about it. Still at the age of seventeen, the only girlfriend he had was back when he was thirteen and that didn't go far. That was when the illness began to take hold and grip at his very being. Quickly he forgot about how all those times when he saw that smile. Remembering the time she had to help him adjust the tie. When he moved about his dorm room to adjust the minotaur skeleton in order to scare Rabastan's older brother. Evan couldn't help but chuckle at the memory. "Then I suppose we better get going. I didn't pack a lunch and I was only going to head out for an hour or so. Maybe Eric would like to meet us for lunch? And, surprisingly, I haven't dug up as much as I would have liked. The climate here makes it somewhat difficult when winter comes about. So instead I have been studying to become and archeologist." Evan stepped back a ways and picked up his tools, looping them into his belt and tossing the pickax over his shoulder, handle wedged in his palm. Like a gentleman he held his arm out for her. template by Sammy @ Adox 2.0

Ezra could remember all the way back to the first time she had met Evan. As promised, she had never forgotten him, or any of the memories they had shared. From every time she had gotten a package of skeletal remains from her brother to give to him, to each time she had found him in the Great Hall and listened to what ever string of facts and stories he had to tell that day.
Liking people hadn't exactly been her strong suit either. She too had only had one boyfriend and that was..well to be honest the only thing they had in common was quidditch, so it hadn't lasted very long at all. But that spectrum of things were the furthest thing from her mind. Evan was her best friend first no matter how she felt about him, and anything after that was just happy coincidence.
" Then get going we shall." she smiled and took his arm, picking up the remaining tools with care so he wasn't overloaded. "You know, if you had any questions about becoming one, I could give you my brothers number. It would probably make his day to find out that there are still people looking to do what he does. You become somewhat of a favorite of his from all the bones hes sent." she laughs.
