VOLKOV, Mikhail Sergeyevich

Mikhail Sergeyevich was born in St. Petersburg, Russia. His family moved around a lot so most of his education was done around the world, in various cultures and situations, as he learned in the best and absolute worst of times and conflicts areas. Every since he was young, he showed a strong affinity with animals. In fact, if she was still alive, his mother could tell you every single animal he picked up throughout his formative years, from a regular garden snake to a kneazle, and even at one point an occamy. Due to his nature, they decided to forgo the harsher schooling of Durmstrang and kept to homeschooling him.

Never being one to let an injustice pass him by, he had a tendency to put himself into harms way to rescue not only animals, but people as well. Many times his parents were even having to get him out of Muggle prisons. At one point he somehow managed to get into the middle of a tribal conflict in Africa that almost ended in him without a head. (Luckily, he managed to get out of that along with the fellow Muggles he was trying to help. and he did wipe all memories. He swears.)

Somewhere along the way he decided it was important to impart these skills, conservation and basic human dignity, to the next generation. At times he can be a bit scatterbrained and 'loopy' for lack of a better term but when it comes to teaching about animals he is great at his job.

Partly from his upbringing away from the Russian social norms and his parents on lax attitudes, he shies away from following their naming convention and prefers everyone to just call him 'Misha'.
