First Week of September; ~7am
Marie Agnès strolled into the Great Hall for an early breakfast. Click. Clack. Click. Clack. Her steps were always loud. While others found it obnoxious, she liked wearing heels and she liked hearing her steps. It made her feel as though she was walking with a sense of purpose. It was the beginning of her sixth year at Beauregard. She could not believe how far she had come. It seemed only yesterday that she had started her first day of classes as a young witch. Now, she was well on her way to becoming a fully functioning member of the wizarding society. Soon she would be an alumna of Beauregard and her time at this school would all be just a memory.
She found an empty table and chose to sit down. Not too many other students were in the Great Hall just yet. Tired, her mind began to drift off to her rather uneventful summer. Her father had been occupied as usual by his accounting business, while she and her mother spent each day sipping coffee and chatting about the newest fashions. Her father always felt bad about not being able to spend more time with Marie, thus he always overcompensated by giving her presents or money. Marie didn’t mind much, because she always loved a good shopping trip. “Dress for success” was her favorite saying and she certainly lived by it.
She shook her head, realizing that she had zoned out. What do we have to eat this morning? She looked at the table in front of her and chose a banana. She wasn’t particularly hungry. She never was in the mornings, but she knew that she had a long day ahead of her, so a banana it was. She surveyed the room again. She didn't see any recognizable faces. She wondered if she would be eating her breakfast alone.
