Sweet as sugar, hard as ice

Alissa stifled a yawn behind the back of her hand as she wheeled a cart along the many rows of Beauregard's library. The bewitched lamps hovered in the air beside her, lighting the area enough to keep her from drifting off as she worked. Maybe she shouldn't of let herself get wrapped up in that mystery novel all afternoon... And grandmother always said working with your hands was good for the soul. Even if doing this task by magic was good for her tired brain.

The librarian tucked Magical Maladies Volume One: The Basics back into its proper shelf before fingering the next heavy text. "Kids these days... Can't they just put the damn things back by themselves..." The French woman cursed lightly under her breath, accent hinting just a touch against her words. The next book in her pile was... Aphrodite: Love Potions for Beginners Joy. Looks like there were some impromptu Aphrodites on the loose. She better warn the potions master to keep an eye on their stock for the next couple weeks lest these girl's hormones run away with their brains. As she pushed the cart down the rows to place Love Potions back in its proper place the light from her lamps caught the skin on the inside of her wrist. The bright black vines stood out against her olive toned skin... the promised curse Mark. A tracker. If she ever set foot on French soil again the Soteria would be on her like a pack of wolves on a rabbit and then nothing would stop the wedding bells from ringing. The very idea made a shudder of disgust run through the librarian's frame. She shook her head to clear it when a sudden thump was heard from a couple rows over.

Setting down the book, Alissa stalked towards the noise, lamps in tow. Just in case she let her fingers slip into the lining of her jacket, pulling out the familiar ironwood wand. "Whose there? It's way past curfew so you better just show yourself!"

Sweet Merlin if I have to chase down some snot nosed brat I'm going to give them detention for a month...
