Started with a phone conversation
Smiling slightly as he blacked out the screen on his phone, Malachai got up and stretched. He had seen the invite to the benefit this weekend and had contemplated going. With the start of classes, he hadn't had a chance to see Vera quite as much as he would have liked to. At the same time though, he didn't want to seem like he was throwing himself at her. it made him hesitant to go to this shindig outright.
But hey, she texted him. He was only too happy to oblige.
Taking a quick shower, he dried off and pulled out his nicer looking suit and got dressed. Contrary to popular belief, when Malachai wanted to be suave, Malachai could be suave. At least until he opened his mouth generally. But she didn't seem to mind when he acted like an idiot so did it really matter?
Opting for his contacts, he put them in and fixed his hair before looking at his phone to check the time. Eight minutes had passed. Picking up the phone and putting it into his pocket, he slipped out of the Corvus common room and headed to where he could Disapparate. It wasn't too bad of a walk and the early night felt nice. It gave him time to clear his head. Maybe this time he could actually ask her on a date?
Granted, he was only there to help her torment her brother.
Ah, he would take what he could get.
Apparating to the mansion, he stopped to look around a moment to get some bearing. The mansion loomed in front of him and he couldn't help but stare. While his family was by absolutely no means poor, he was still a country boy for the most part.
Pushing his hands in his pockets, he made his way towards the building keeping an eye out for Vera.. She said she would meet him outside so he knew she would be around there somewhere. Then out of the corner of his eye he spotted her. She was standing off the the side a bit, a stationary spectator in the sea of people that moved past her and to the festivities inside. A lavender gown hugged her body in all the right places and her hair was pulled back. Nothing covered her face and it was one of the few times the Irish wizard actually got a chance to see her fully.
She was stunning.
The allure that was her half Veela nature tempted him to look at her, but it was Vera herself that demanded his attention. Oh he could feel the temptation, but he had gotten to where he could easily push it away and move past it. The veela wasn't even the surface of who she was.
Malachai moved counter the crowd as he made his way to her until he found himself next to her. "While I did like the cat sweaters, I think I gotta say lavender suits you amazingly."
