what a beautiful day OCTOBER 9, 2016 - EARLY EVENING
Jasmine stole one of Alex's shirts before she came back to the school and she didn't even care. Although, was it really stealing if you took from a person right in front of them as they gave you an amused look? Probably not. But still. It was comfy and smelled like him and she wanted it, so she took it.
To say that the Muggle boy had gotten under her skin was an understatement. When she wasn't working her ass off to keep her scholarship and bust through her thesis work, she was thinking of him. She couldn't help it. He had drawn her in like no one ever had. Everything about him from those amber eyes to how smart he actually was was everything she ever wanted. And she knew he was a flirt and a playboy, but she was confident that that was in the past.
The way he looked at her when he thought she didn't notice made her think that her feelings were reciprocated.
And ever since the benefit in September, the normally chipper Equuleus girl had been incredibly upbeat. Even as she began to notice the slight and subtle shifts and aversions in her own body. it wasn't an ideal situation, but she couldn't help the slight excitement when she realised it.
Okay at first she stared at the test in a stunned disbelief. She was on the pill after all and was always incredibly careful, making sure she took it at the same time every day and she had never missed one. Apparently God had other plans or something.
No one knew yet. Not even Alex or Vera. When she first found out the previous weekend she had thought about telling her friend, but she decided to keep it a secret for now. She wanted to think of a fun and yet easy way to tell Alex first because she had a feeling he just might pass out.
So even though she had seen him quite a few times since finding out, he still had no idea.
Laughing out loud to herself, she swung around in a circle in one of the courtyards, enjoying the last hour or so of sunlight before night took hold. While she wished she had someone to talk to about it, it was clear that the girl was in a fantastic mood. Even if no one else knew.

Kameron has still definitely been avoiding the hell out of Rhett and putting a lot of his focus and time into Leo. They both knew that it wasn't going to work out, but it was nice to have a distraction and someone to just help him relax for a while. Kameron was on his way back in from the greenhouses where he just so happened to spend all of his time when he wasn't busy. Plants were company enough, especially if he really wanted to be alone.
Spotting the girl spinning about the courtyard with a smile on her lips he leaned over the ledge. "You look rather happy J..." Rubbing his nose softly he breathed in deeply again to make sure. "Jazzy!" A smile on his lips as he watched her move while leaning there. Curse being so tall.

She was lost in the moment, enjoying the warm sunshine as she spun about when she heard Kameron's voice and she stopped with a giggle and looked up at him. At his reaction her eyes got a little wide and her mouth did a slight 'o', even though she was still obviously happy.
"You can smell it!?" Dark eyes lit up as she looked down, finger tips barely peeking out from Alex's shirt as she touched her stomach. "You won't tell will you? Secreto, sí?"
She let out a laugh as she moved to where he was leaning against the ledge, her own self only a head above it as she draped her arms over it. "I'm excited."

Laughing softly he tapped his own nose softly and gave her a smile. "I can smell a lot of things. That is one of the things." Kameron gave her a happy smile and shook his head. "It's not my secret to tell Jazzy. You've nothing to worry about, though it's not going to be so secret with all the other vampires."
Turning slightly as she leaned forward over the ledge he grinned. "Are you? You have a plan?" It wasn't degrading at all, rather with how excited she was Kameron wanted to make sure that everything was going to be okay for his housemate.

"Well just stop that!" Jasmine laughed, knowing obviously he couldn't just stop his senses. "I hope none of them decides to say anything."
Shaking her head softly in amusement because she knew they might (although she knew that it wouldn't be out of any malicious intent), she ran a hand through her hair. "I am...I mean, it's not ideal...obviously, but well.." she shrugged softly. 'I have no idea! i mean, I know how to raise kids, I did it with my siblings. But...I can't even figure out how to tell Alex. Like...do I just drop it on him? 'Cept then he'd probably faint and I'm a lil too small to catch him. Do I make something? I have no idea!" Her dark eyes looked up at her friend. "What would you do? If you were me?"

Kameron just smiled to the girl, the amount of glee in her face as ever apparent and there wasn't much he could do aside from feed off of that energy. He had Leopold now, he was happy? Sure. The fact that she was completely lost was something that he saw with most new moms. "I am sure that you're going to do amazing. And especially since you're already in your eighth year you won't have to worry about what you're going to do with school. Unless you plan on going to university or something like that." Kam gave her a reassuring smile.
"As for telling Alex? If I were in your shoes I would do it face to face over dinner and ask for a kids menu as you're being seated. But that's just me. I know if Rhe..." Kameron bit his lip and shook his head a moment, then forced a smile. "I know that if Leo and I were to have kids, I would get him a miniature encyclopedia set. It would be cute. Just... take something Alex likes and make a little version of it, or order it." Mini guitar or a play ukulele is what he would have bought for Rhett. That's what he wanted to do, but he was forcing himself to look forward at her with a smile. Everything about him read that he was fine, he carried himself well. He had to look that way for his family and everything else, but he knew deep down that Leo and he were not going to work out.

Continue on to a university? The thought had certainly crossed the ambitious girl's thoughts, but adding the optional year at Beauregard plus an intern or shadowing job would give her all the experience and education she would need to step into the American political world. Granted, her race might make it a little more difficult.
She couldn't help but notice the slip up and the way Kam's smile seemed more forced. Between her talk with Theo the day before and this, she felt in a slightly awkward position. Especially since everyone know Kameron had been in love with Rhett...who happened to be dating Vera...her best friend and her boyfriend's sister. And her tall friend had most certainly almost said Rhett's name.
Awkward.
Everything about the whole damned situation was awkward.

"Hmm...well he likes painting! Maybe a mini easel! With mni canvas..." She couldn't help but laugh. It was certainly a thought "Definitely have to make it, way cheaper that way."
Her dark eyes looked over her friend as she ran a hand through her hair. "Kam...I have a question for you....Why...Why are you dating Leo? It literally makes no sense and you're just making other people miserable." There. She said it. Not only Corvus people could be blunt.

Kam just chuckled lightly as she saluted him and he shook his head. Shifting on his feet while he spoke and then gave her time to think over what he had said. Sure there were a lot of people that would definitely help her out, but ultimately the choice was up to her. Not Alex, not anyone else. Which at times he knew could suck, but he was always going to be here for her if she needed the help. Giving her a soft smile, Kam gave her a nod to indicate that he was most definitely listening.
"And easel sounds perfect. And a little tiny canvas would be amazing. You might want to ask Professor Prince to see if maybe she has any laying around or are older and can be fixed up and shrunk?" And then that question happened. The question everyone had probably wanted to known the answer to.
"Because, Rhett..." Kam didn't want to pin this all on Rhett. It was partially his fault, but really. "No, not because Rhett anything, because I want to try and forget. It... my feels are still pretty hurt and to be abandoned like that after what happened with Hayden? It's just not good for me. What are you saying I'm making other people miserable? Rhett has Vera and I have Leo... that's just how it is."

Talking to Professor Prince would definitely be a good idea, especially if she wanted to find an easel and canvass that could work. Tomorrow, she decided to herself, Tomorrow, I'll go talk to her. Honestly, she wasn't sure how much longer she could keep it from her boyfriend. Every time she saw him she just wanted to blurt it out.
A look of confusion crossed her face. "Abandoned after what happened with Hayden? What does Rhett and Hayden's breakup have to do with anything?" For a moment, she was completely thrown off, trying to make sense of what in the world he was talking about. Kameron hadn't even been there when their housemate dumped the Vulpecula boy.
"I'm saying exactly what I'm saying. You're making other people miserable. You all are. 'Rhett has Vera and I have Leo.' You know as well as I do that Rhett and Vera make absolutely no sense. Not that Rhett is talkin' to me anymore. But I thought for sure Vera and O'Collins were going to start datng, I mean with the way he talks about her. And then...." jasmine blinked as she trailed off. "Oh....Oh."
The puzzle pieces were coming together in her head. She was starting to figure it out, but at the same time, she couldn't understand the why. If it was what she thought, why was Rhett doing it. And why was Vera going along with it....
"Quid pro quo." She still didn't completely understand it, but if what she was thinking was right, it made her heart break for the whole situation. She looked back up at Kameron, her dark eyes filled with pity. It wasn't just pity for him, but for all of them. template by Sammy @ Adox 2.0 |

"Nothing, it doesn't mean anything. I shouldn't have said anything." Kameron shook his head, wanting to drop the subject. When things got personal he had a knack for closing himself off from the world. That was exactly what he was doing now. Kameron didn't want to think about Rhett and Vera, or Rhett with Vera or really Rhett with anyone else, but him. But also, Rhett had made it very clear to him that he wasn't interested. That he wasn't gay. That he wasn't into him like Kameron had thought.
Taking a deep breath, Kameron looked to his feet and licked his lips. "Jazzy... just... I don't want to talk about this anymore. I'm going to head out and find Leo." The shift in Kameron was ridiculously noticeable. He was hurting people, and he couldn't get that through his head, really he didn't even know if he wanted to see Leo right now. "I'm going to go lay down or something. I don't know. I'll see you around."
