Jealousy was so interesting. The way it affected the mind and the body was almost revolting, but with the nights as lonely as they were Theo didn't really know how to handle them. Usually he always had company and that company was always with Leopold, but lately that company was sleeping up in the Equuleus tower. Theodore was also very aware that Leopold didn't love the man, but what could he do? Just watch. That was all he could do until Leopold or Kameron came to their damn senses. The couch just wasn't the same, and his feet were most definitely colder since they started dating.
Was this really a possible feeling? It had actually startled Theodore. Always he was so comfortable with his best friend, but he had assumed that it would always just be the two of them. Forever. That moment when Westhaven asked Leo out in the library, the other boy was so swollen with envy. Theo had no clue how to deal with it so lately he had buried himself in puzzles. Also the occasional drink.
Not today though, he needed to get caught up on his coursework and he also really wanted to be outside. So outside the tall and lean Corvus boy went. Sure it was just one of the outside corridors, but it was still outside. Somewhere he never went without his other half, Leopold Crane. It felt odd walking the hallways alone, and finding their usual spot near the greenhouses he pulled out one of his novels and started to read.

Normally, Jasmine wasn't on the school grounds a whole lot during the weekends. Today though she needed to get a few things done on her school work before she headed out. Her morning was spent pouring over a few of the treatises between the Nomaj government and MACUSA, highlighters and sticky notes surrounding her. There were so many things about it that needed to change. So many things about the wizarding community in America in general needed to change. Its unwillingness to step in when rights were being trampled, for example. Or the ongoing barring of magical and Nomaj relationships.
A hand found her stomach as she paused in her work. That one definitely needed to be changed. It was archaic and preposterous. The magical community would die out without marrying outside it anyways.
The alarm on her phone went off, interrupting her studying. Leaning over, she turned it off before waving her wand at her mess. Books, papers, and highlighters all zipped around before magically putting themselves away. Alex and her had decided on a lunch date to meet up and she had enough time to make it there, with some time to spare. Of course, that always depended on whether or not she was going to throw up after Apparating.
She grabbed her shoes and slipped them onto her feet before running a hand through her hair. Bag in hand she slipped out of the Equuleus common room and made her way through the corridors before coming outside. Deciding to take the way past the greenhouses, she pulled her coat a little tighter around her and hummed softly.
As she came around the end of the corridor, she couldn't help but notice the lone figure with the book. Tilting her head to the side she paused as she came upon Theodore Gaynor. He was a Corvus boy, she was pretty sure a seventh year.
"Que pasa?! Nice day for some outdoor reading, si?" Jasmine smiled at him.

The book was interesting and for a moment he parted his lips to say something to Leopold, but he wasn't exactly there. Upon this realization he felt rather embarrassed and even if he could admit it? Lonely. Now, this wasn't as unusual of a feeling as through out his youth he happened to do most things on his own, but he had thought he found companionship with Leo. Only to have that all sort of shatter before him. Shifting his lips he buried his face back into the book.
That was until Jasmine Delgado strode along and stoped. Her smile was pleasant, her accent even more so. Some people were afraid of differences and change in accents, placing them in distant and unfriendly countries. When really they were all human, and assumptions could always be wrong.
"It is a very nice day, a bit on the chilly side, but nothing a thicker jacket can't ward off." Theodore reciprocated the smile and then a thought crossed his mind. "Uh, hey Jazzy, can I ask you another question?"

Really, she knew she probably shouldn't have interrupted his book. It was a rather rude thing to do, but sometimes she couldn't help her mouth. At least her mouth was never a rude thing, or else this would be a whole new problem.
"A jacket or a lil' fire in a jar!" She adjusted the bag on her shoulder before giving him a bright smile. Moving off the path, she sat down next to him. There was plenty of time to spare.
"Sure Theo, what's up!?" Jasmine would be lying if she said she wasn't curious as to what possible question the Corvus boy would have for her. That he was intelligent was an understatement. Maybe it was something political or ...okay she had no clue what he could possibly need her opinion on. Either way she was there to help!

Theodore offered Jazzy a smile. The girl was always looking on the bright side of things and that helped tenfold. Though he couldn't help but wonder if she would be able to help. Theo closed his book and put it back into his messenger bag.
"A fire in a jar, that makes for good smores roasting." The tall boy grinned again to her as she sat down with him and he nodded.
"Sure Theo, what's up?"
He should have expected that. Again, Jazzy was always so adamant about positive vibes. Something he wasn't really feeling right now. "I was wondering..." How did he word this without sounding too forward? Right, Corvus, always forward. "Do... you think Leo and Kam are going to make it or no? Because..."
Because why, Theodore? You're in love with Leopold and always have been? Again he parted his lips and then bit it softly as he looked to his hands. "I was going to ask him to the dance, but Kameron just... hawked him from me." Jealousy.

"Do... you think Leo and Kam are going to make it or no? Because..."
Of all the things that the Corvus boy could have asked her, what he did finally ask was not anything close to what the Equuleus Prefect had been expecting. And because she hadn't been expecting it, her mouth decided to talk before she really processed the question.
"No....Dios no." It sounded a little mean when she said it, but she didn't mean anything by it. Kam and Leo dating had completely thrown her for a loop. Jasmine didn't need to be in the house that upheld intelligence over everything to realise that that relationship made so little sense even Donald Trump's minions wouldn't have believed it.
Drawing her knees up she gave him an unapologetic smile over her reaction. "I can't tell you if you should ask Leo or not ...but no, I don't think they'll last. At all. I seriously would be surprised if they make it to Halloween. Equuleus Tower has been stupid tense lately."
She ran a hand through her hair, her smile still upbeat, but with a kind factor. "Have you told Leo how you felt?"

No? Is that what she said? What does Dios mean... Theo blinked a few times at her sudden outburst of no. Really he wasn't even entirely sure himself, but the reaction he garnered from her only solidified one though. Theodore Gaynor still had a chance with Leopold Crane. Biting his lip, Theo's hands moved to his knees where he rubbed them softly.
"I don't want to ask him, he's happy. At least that's what it seems. That and Westhaven was so adamant about taking him away from his thesis I hardly see him anymore. Unless he's playing catch up on paperwork or he's mingling arm and arm with the best looking guy on campus. I'm not going to walk up to him and be blunt about it. I don't want to get rejected."

He likes Leo.
The realisation hit her as she watched the way he reacted. Really, she shouldn't have found it surprising. The two were almost always together. Or well, had been.
This last month had been weird all over the board.
Was Leo happy? It was hard for Jasmine to really respond to that. Frankly, she didn't know the boy well enough to be able to tell one way or another. Kam she knew a little better, and she didn't think he was actually happy. To her, he just looked like he was trying to hard. And avoiding other things. Or people.
"Rejection definitely stings. But...I don't think...you would be?" The Equuleus girl spoke slowly, still thinking over the situation. "I think you and Leo make a lot more sense than Kam and him. They don't like any of the same things...I just..I wish I had some better insight for you, Theo." she wrapped her arms around her stomach as she spoke. "But like I said, I don't think they'll last very long. One of them is bound to annoy the other."

Sitting there Theo looked over to Jazzy and licked his lips. He didn't really know what to do or how to respond. Sure he was book smart but when it came to socializing or expressing his feelings the boy was just at a loss. Sure he could hold a conversation with virutally anyone, but reading body language was hard, sometimes even the lilts in accent or upward tones were hard to distinguish. Theo popped his knuckles gently then looked to her.
"I'll... just wait it out then. If they don't like each other... it's not going to work out. Kameron is too social for Leo anyway. Probably doesn't realize that he isn't a big on a lot of things. That and sometimes he just really likes to be left alone. No talking or anything. It's time to allow his brain to recharge. And... how much he really likes brain games and riddles." Slipped from the wall and stood up next to her. "Thank you Jazzy. I... I'm going to head back inside to read and probably get a cup of cocoa."
