(open) lazy evenings

Thomas all but dragged himself up the staircase, his last class of the day had just let out Thomas was officially exhausted. Of course that didn’t mean his work for the day was finished, he still had a History of Magic essay to finish – which normally wouldn’t have been a problem for Thomas give that it was favourite subject. His friends would often cringe at his ability to recount random anecdotes from times long gone. He waited for the crowd to thin before he continued his journey, there was nothing worse than a human traffic jam especially when everybody was in the same irritable mood.

Trudging into the common room Thomas yawned and ran a hand through his messy black hair before slumping down onto the soft couch letting out a contented sigh. With the fire crackling before him and the quiet peace of the common room Thomas could feel his worries slipping away melting into the warmth of the room. If he could just stay here forever that would be great. No homework, no exams no grumpy professors.
