Nicolae comes from a long, LONG line of Romani werewolves, and despite the stigma of his species, he's quite open and very proud of his heritage. His openness about it much appreciated by the Headmaster when he applied for the ancient runes position.
By nature, Nico is a very chaotic and ...eccentric individual, finding peace in disarray and calm in disorganization. That, along with his incessant tendencies to talk to himself at full volume and in in depth conversation, makes him come off as quite a bit mad. But in all reality he's...well, he is rather mad, but a genuinely kind and understanding person nonetheless.
Ancient Runes is something, and likely the only thing, that he takes with any amout of seriousness as it is his passion. Though his classes may be oddball and nonsensical at times, he teaches it with all his heart.
